When building our preschool from scratch, we explored this question head-on. The answer we arrived at is simple: "A preschool where children take the lead."

We are doing away with adult conveniences and agendas. "What should we do today? How should we play?" At Hazeru Preschool, the children themselves decide what they want to do, running freely and joyfully throughout the building and the yard.

Living fully and bursting with energy in the present moment. Growing beyond their current boundaries and discovering many new versions of themselves. We look forward to sharing these vibrant, dynamic days together with you!

The core philosophy of Hazeru is to completely remove adult-centric convenience from early education. It deeply values the concept that children are the main actors in their own lives, and that true learning emerges organically through unrestricted play. Furthermore, the center embodies a philosophy of community and nature integration; by serving meals made from Assabu's local produce and facilitating agricultural activities, it instills a profound appreciation for food, nature, and the local culture in the children it serves.

The facility boasts an exceptional environment surrounded by the grand nature of Hokkaido, characterized by wide-open skies and expansive land. The outdoor playground preserves the natural, sometimes steep, terrain of its former park setting, fostering physical resilience. The indoor space is equally dynamic, featuring an open-atrium playroom, wooden play structures known as "Den," and reading areas, ensuring children can play freely and safely regardless of the weather.
