Features of the Preschool
The preschool building is uniquely situated within the grounds of a historic samurai residence near the center of Omori Town. Children have access to a spacious playground and a beautiful adjacent river, allowing them to play in rice fields, pick mugwort to make rice cakes, and interact with small fish.
Food education focuses on the entire process from seed to plate, rather than just eating. Children learn directly from local farmers by touching the soil, planting, harvesting, and engaging in cooking activities at the facility.
There is a strong town culture where the community collectively looks after all children. Events like the joint sports festival with the elementary school actively involve local community members alongside parents.
A Day of the Children
No separate classes—everyone plays and learns together.
No fixed schedule. We adapt our play naturally based on the day's weather and circumstances.
"Children's Meetings": Kids discuss and decide what to play and share their thoughts.
Lunchtime is around noon.
